Where in the World is Bella - Part 4

Bella is looking for something fun to do and has decided to put together a virtual scavenger hunt and "visit" some interesting and off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Time to put on your travel geography cap and follow Bella around the globe. Can you guess where in the world Bella is?

Bella is in a beautiful Southeast Asian country known for its beaches, rainforests, and mix of Chinese, Indian, and European cultural influences.

Four UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites are found in this country: Gunung Mulu National Park, Kinabalu Park, the historic cities of Melaka and George Town, and the archaeological heritage site of the Lenggong Valley.

Rainforest covers over half of this country's land, including parts which are considered to be some of the world's most remote jungle.

Need a hint? Between 1998 through 2004, this country's capital was home to the world’s tallest buildings, and these are still regarded as the world’s tallest ‘twin’ buildings.

So where in the world is Bella?

Malaysia

Malaysia is one of the most pleasant, hassle-free countries to visit in Southeast Asia. It's buoyant and wealthy and has moved towards a pluralist culture based on a vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs. Most visitors to Malaysia stick to the insane headlong rush of Kuala Lumpur, the colonially soothing Cameron Highlands Hill Station, or the hedonistic torpor of Langkawi. However, the island of East Malaysia offers spectacular wildlife, longhouses, and the awe-inspiring Mt Kinabalu. Malaysia's love of Western-style industrialization is abundantly clear in its big cities. Aside from the gleaming glass of the 21st Century, though, Malaysia boasts some of the most superb beaches, mountains and national parks in Asia.
